Your root assumption of sleeping till forever then waking up isn’t accurate. Nothing remains in such a state. Even if you adhere to a materialist ideology physics even states that everything is in a constant state of flux, and thermodynamics even states that things tend to lose energy and increase in disorder over time. 

Nothing in nature or in spirit behaves in such a manner. This sounds like religious dogma a little.
