"Do we have control over our destiny, or is life just a series of random events?"

Destiny implies a time element of some sort. The concept of destiny makes sense on your side of things because your ego is prejudiced toward its own version of reality. This version includes a sequential time perspective.
While this perspective is helpful in your current creative efforts as a human species, it is not fundamental—meaning it does not exist outside of your vibrational level. Your perspective of time is a distortion of simultaneous action by the ego, which cannot directly perceive action but must translate action, not create it. The ego does not create action; it filters out aspects of action so it can be expressed coherently in your matrix.
The ego is the veil that has been spoken of by many of your spiritual groups in your so-called past. Your human race uses an ego-intellect combination to expressively create. This ego-intellect combination channels subconscious personalities to act out roles within your matrix stage play.
Why am I saying all of this? Because the answer is a little confusing without context.
In your waking consciousness state, you believe you are the creator of action. Therefore, as logic would deduce, you also believe you possess free will or a freedom of locomotion, thought, or action.
However, these things do not originate with waking consciousness but first exist as nonphysical energy blueprints that command various forms of energy to build up complex structures, with the end result being your human edifice and “physical” reality.
You are the effect of action, not the cause. There are many different energies, some exotic, that converge (or “work together” might be a better fit) to create your human body. Since all is mind, conceptually speaking, what you believe can and does create legitimate realities. So there is a freedom of will involved from your perspective—or so it seems.
Your conceptually based idea of freewill rests within one completed action: an action that has a beginning and an end, but infinite capacity for changeability and action within action.
Nonphysical reality is instantaneous but not deterministic.
So, what’s going to really bake your noodle is that your life does have a destiny—a fate—an end. This Destiny is not set in stone, but dynamic. What you do now changes both segment points. Yes, I said both, stretching into the past and the future.
You cannot directly perceive your past and its dynamic changes because the ego or veil…
The channel stopped suddenly and I fell out of my altered state. It happens from time-to-time when I push the limits of my own ego’s acceptance of certain ideas and concepts. I’m not perfect. Even for me these concepts get super deep. It took me about 10min to get back into an altered state. Channel resumes briefly at 8:09pm.
Nothing is random. This is a flimsy excuse of the ego to explain away correlates it cannot perceive or patterns it cannot justify.
